Unlike the general rules, these rules apply only when a group or pair of characters wish to engage in combat. Most of them are common sense, but given the lack of such things when it comes to RP over the years. Rules have been placed to keep the fight fair and fun for everyone involved - not just you.
These rules are also simple guidelines we would appreciate you follow and can apply to both single paired fights, and large groups.
1. Before starting, please set up an order of posting. This is very simple to do and simply involves you all agreeing on who will post when. This is put in place so everyone has a chance to react fairly. Instead of a small few hogging all the glory because they have more time to get on line than others.
There are a few acceptations to this rule. Which are as follows
All of these acceptations obviously only apply when in a group fighting setting.
2. There will only be a max of two separate attacks per post. I cannot stress this rule enough. While some might disagree with this rule, that is your problem. It is put in place to prevent moding! (If you don't know what 'moding' it. Please refer to the Terminology thread)
We do not want your character running around doing ten moves in a single post. It isn't fair and doesn't allow the other players to react. Plus it makes a huge confusing mess to sort through that only escalates, when other players do try to respond to it fairly.
3. All spells must take more than one post! We do recognize the fact that this game is a mix of Modern sci-fi and fantasy. So there will be magic in it. Though if you are going to cast a spell. Please give yourself time to actually cast it.

4. NO MODING!! This is another rule I cannot stress enough, and one of the things this page of rules is set up to insure does not happen. This a game for fun, not a game where you can show off your l33t skills (or lack of). No 'god' attacks like 'obliteration' or something silly like that. If you have a power like that DON'T USE IT HERE. Spells that instantly kill a character are MODING in this room, and not accepted.
5. Speed is okay, but not too much...no moving in the blink of an eye out of the way of an attack just because you don't want your character hurt. No teleporting out of the way suddenly for the same reason and appearing behind your opponent to attack them back. It isn't proper playing etiquette, and it also isn't fair. If you're afraid to let your character get hurt, then you shouldn't be letting them get into fights in the first place.
6. This is a TB Board. Meaning that you have to give your opponent a chance to respond to an attack. No attacks such as "He stabbed James in the side, blood oozing from the fresh wound as he smiled slyly. Victory tasted on his tongue" You cannot do that. An attack such as "He made a jab at James’ side, aiming to slice at his exposed side and cripple him" Is accepted.
By this rule you are also not allowed to dodge every single attack. That just isn't fair and is considered a form of Moding also. There is no fairness in simply fighting and expecting to win, it kills the element of skill needed (and expected) in this RP. We like challenges here, and if you don't you're in the wrong place.
7. No killing. Effectively this is a NKZ (No Killing Zone) which means that that unless the player you are fighting against has agreed to accept a kill if it is made. You cannot kill their character. This rule ties in with the previous one. Some may not think that is fair, but those with better imaginations know that sometimes there are worse things you can do than kill someone. This rule not only insures people aren't unfairly knocked off, but also challenges others to think more creatively.

There are a few acceptations to this rule. Which are as follows
- If a player takes more than four days to post their reply. In this case you are allowed to skip over them and assume their character has not reacted yet and go onto the next persons post
- If the player says they would voluntarily like to skip their turn. Passing it over to the next player to post instead.
- If the player says they will not be available to play for an extended amount of time that exceeds four days. If this happens, you can either continue to skip the players turn until he/she returns. Or ask the player if they would like someone else in the group to NPC their character

There are a few acceptations to this rule also and are as follows...
- Small spells...Small spells like a quick fire ball or shot of ice. Practically anything that was quick and isn't really likely to kill a character in one shot. Can be done in one post.
- Slow working spells. These are spells that are quick to cast, but take time to come into full effect.
- Agreements. Which is pretty much what you'd think. If you are playing with another person - or persons - and they all agree that they do not care what spells you cast and how. Then for that specific person/group you can do what you wish.
- Moderators and main villains. For the sake of keeping the story interesting. Any moderator playing a main villain at the time can cast spells quicker than most. This is only to be done by trusted moderators or if the two owners (ToxicD and Ossia) both agree you can, in interest of the story Line. This acceptation is rare and only awarded to those who we trust and/or are reasonable enough not to abuse this power.
